Margaret Dutton has an extensive background with children. Her education began with child development and Early childhood Education, took a brief swerve into creative writing, and goes on to include graduate work in education. She holds a valid teaching credential and is a literacy specialist. Margaret has worked in the field with children for over 20 years: as an infant care giver, Pre-school teacher, School director, and day care owner/operator. She has also taught on the "front lines" of our public school systems, as a literacy specialist at the high school level. No small part of Margaret's knowledge base comes from being a mother, herself. To add to her extensive background with children, Margaret has also received training from the Parent Coaching Institute www.ParentCoachingInstitute.com, a recognized, graduate level, accredited, Parent Coach Certification program.

"After 20 years of being steeped in examples of parent-child relationships, all day every day, I have discovered a few things. I have discovered that although struggling parents come in all different tones and textures, Successful parents, the ones that really stand out, tend to have a few things in common. Those few things; an innate understanding of children as distinct from adults, a specific and workable set of parenting goals, and a confidence in their role as parents, sets these people and their kids apart from the rest. As a teacher of parents, my goal is to share what I have learned over the last 20 years of immersion in my field, so that others can benefit from the same wisdoms."
