Behavior Modification Model
The Behavior Modification model of Parent Coaching is the reality version of “Supper Nanny.” This is for parents who are having difficulty with a child aged 0 through 5 years. The Behavior Modification model is effective for tackling specific problems such as eating and sleeping issues, discipline, potty training hang ups, sibling rivalry, aggression, impulse control issues, and the challenges inherent in the setting of boundaries with young children.
Depending upon the issues, the Behavioral Modification model requires between five and ten hours of actual coaching, and ideally would take place over a period of about one week. Coaching takes place in the client’s home, and includes both parents. The Behavioral model is also open to as many secondary care givers as possible, including; nannies, au pairs, day care providers, and any friends or relatives that have a frequent and active role in caring for the child.

Systems Modification Model
The System Modification model of Parent Coaching serves a different purpose than the Behavior Modification model. This model looks at parenting as a part of a system, influenced by external and internal forces. That system can be shaped and altered an any number of ways. The System Modification model of Parent Coaching is for individuals or couples, whom are responsible for children of any age, and that are searching for hope, clarity, cohesion, or new direction in their parenting. Challenges in Parenting are not unusual, but sometimes we find ourselves faced with the kinds of challenges that force us to rethink our parenting role. System Modification can help with situations such as:
- Parenting Fatigue (feeling overwhelmed, under supported, or just plain lost)
- The discovery that a child has a physical or learning disability
- The necessity of discovering a new identity as a single parent, when marriage ends
- Taking on the complexities of parenting a child from the extended, or blended family
- Grappling with the rapid changes and demands of parenting an adolescent
Depending on the issues, The System Modification model of Parent Coaching takes between five and fifteen hours of actual coaching, meeting one hour a week. Coaching can take place in your home, or a neutral place. The Systems Modification model offers the flexibility of phone sessions, after the initial meeting, for those who have child care conflicts, or are too far away to meet in person easily. The goal of the System Modification model is to keep up with change, and create ease in the job of parenting. The System Modification model uses it’s Life Coaching origins to breathe new life and energy into the parenting role, and rediscover the joy that can carry us through the challenges.
